October 30th: Sydney Opera House Opera
Today the whole AIFS group dressed up and we went to catch the trains to the harbour to go to the Opera. We were so lucky that the opera was paid for with our program and that we were able to go. The tickets cost $84 and we were in the very last section at the top, I can only imagine what tickets cost for orchestra seats. We saw Madame Butterfly (a French Opera) about a Japanese woman who marries a man in the US navy and he sails off and leaves for three years and in that time she has his child (whom he knows nothing about) and vows to not move on to marry another man because he will come back. And then during WWII he comes back with his new American wife and they take the child to be educated in America and she kills herself. I had never seen an Opera before and I really enjoyed it. It went almost  3 hours and by the time it ended I was exhausted.

October 31st: Halloween
Today I chilled for a bit, made waffles and then went to participate in a psych study I volunteered for. It went an hour and then I went to my last physio prac. After that I left for home and chilled with everyone while people got ready for the Ranch with their costumes. I got into my costume and then made some popcorn, caramel apples and poured out the candy into bowls. We made a fort and watched scary movies for the rest of the night. It was a good Halloween, not trick-or-treating or getting trampled on at the bar but enjoying the spirit of the holiday all the same.
