July 17th: Classes at USP

Today we had classes at the University of the South Pacific. There were 4 lectures and tea time in between each one. Each lecture was different and very interesting. We will have an exam in a few days on the material. I also worked out a good price on a painting from an artist at USP. That will be my one meaningful souvenir from Fiji.

Lecture 1: Settlement and Colonization of the Pacific: Western Contact, Self-determing and iondependence movements
Lecture 2: Contemporary issues in the Pacific: climate change and sea-level rise
Lecture 3: Contemporary issues in the Pacific: Traditions, Capitalism and Globalization
Lecture 4: Contemporary Arts of Oceania
