Today was our free day and Danielle and I had paid for a day trip to an Aboriginal Culture Park where we stayed for 3 hours and learned about their believes and culture and also learned how to throw a spear and boomerang. I threw mine like a pro! I never knew I could through it that well that it would come back just right. Then we took the SkyRail on a gondola through the Rainforest and into the "village in the Rainforest" called Kuranda. We walked around for a bit and finally got lunch. We were hoping to make it to the little zoo they had there to hold a koala but we didn't have enough time and so we walked around the historic market place they have. It was a cute village but it started closing down as the last train was about to leave. It would be a boring place to live. We boarded onto the historic Kuranda Railway and set off on the hour+ train ride back to where the tour bus would pick us up and bring us to our hostel. We had a good nap on the train and a nice view of the rainforest around us. Once we washed up and changed, we walked through the city for a bit and around the block at our hostel, got an appetizer at the restaurant next to us and then called it an early night again. We may seem lame, but unlike everyone else on our trip we decided not to go to the beach and do something. It was a good day to see more of the culture up in Cairns.
