thanks Aunt Deb! Got your card and all ready to go to the beach :)

what good beach weather!

Today when I woke up I was pumped for the day ahead. We made muffins out of the mix I had because there was nothing left to eat in the fridge that was mine since we had cleaned the fridge out before we left. We all got ready and a groupd of us (Me, Anthony, Krayon, Deniz and Oz) left to go to the beach. We went to Freshwater beach which is up a little ways from Manly (a very popular beach in Sydney) but it is smaller and very sandy (no rocks!). We all laid down for a bit on the sand and then decided to go into the water. The water felt so cold because of the wind. I was slowly making my way in when Deniz decided to splash me and then dunk me. Then getting into the water was easy. Deniz, Anthony and I swam for a bit and rode some (massive) waves. There were a lot of surfers on the beach and I tried hard not to learn first-hand about Aussie Rip Tides. We stayed in the water for about 45 minutes. Getting out and drying off felt like torture because it was so cold. We stayed for a few hours at this beach but the wind was making everything pretty chilly and it wasn’t completely enjoyable when you were wet.
Then we drove over to Manly where there are many little shops and places to eat. There was a jazz festival playing this weekend so we sat and enjoyed that. We all ordered some burgers after walking around for a bit and then decided to hit a bar which didn’t last long so we drove home. Once home I took a quick nap and shower and then went over to Deniz’s and Bel’s place. Some of my friends were there and they had a BBQ with some salad ready for us for dinner. We ate and then Bel brought out a great cake with lots of fresh berries on top of it and candles. Everyone sang to me, it made me feel really included in the group and it was one of my favorite parts of the day. We all took it easy and then left to catch an early night’s sleep. The sun had really worn us out today. But it was a very good birthday with people that I love having in my life.
