August 31st: House Party

Today when I woke up I started on my essay that is due in a few weeks in physiology. I decided to write my essay on this question:
Barker’s hypothesis states that low birth weight babies have an increased risk of developing hypertension and heart disease in the future. What evidence led to the formulation of this hypothesis and through what mechanism(s) is it thought to occur.”
It will be an easy write and it only needs to be 1000 words. Then at 5 Danielle and I went to this “Bush Dance” dinner in the Hub. It was a really good dinner with a lot of meats off the Barbie. The term “bush dance” is the traditional dance of Australia. (Not too special because Anthony had no clue what I was talking about). It’s a lot like square dancing. I didn’t try it but we watched some people learn it. Once we were done we came back and I continued on more homework. Around 8:30 Anthony arrived and we headed over to Deniz’s to chill and got ready to leave for the house party in North Sydney. Once we finally got there (around 11) we chilled and it was a lot of fun. It was a long night but we had a good time.

August 30th: meeting Patrick

Today I had my classes and come home to do more laundry and some homework. After, Danielle, Anthony and I hung out and her friend Patrick came over and we chilled for a while. Patrick is over 6’3” and he’s such a funny person. He brought us ice cream from McDonald’s. (One month till my birthday!!)

August 29th: It’s not a snake?!

Today was a busy day full of classes. In my Physio Prac I learned how to measure blood pressure with a stethoscope. At my break during the day that I came back home, I looked (as always since Sunday) at the place I saw the snake. I saw a little snake and bent down to look at it more. I noticed that it had a foot and that it wasn’t a snake, but a really long lizard. Then I noticed the one I had seen on Sunday, it was huge but I saw it too was a lizard. I ran back to my room and got my camera. I think they must have a nest there because I saw a lot there in the grass sunbathing. Once I was finally home at 8:15 Danielle came over and hung out and then some boys from next door came to hang out. I made dinner and we hung out and then Danielle went to the bar with them and I hung out with Anthony and Mal and the boys. I’m starting to get good at making homemade mac n cheese too. I wore my new jeans today and Anthony said no one here wears flared jeans (bell bottoms) but that I look like I belong on that 70s show. Hahaha oh city fashion... not used to my "radical" ways haha

August 28th: Bell Bottom Jeans

my data is in the blue (Group 5)

Today I had my lecture and then went for a run. After my run I went to lunch with my friend Vivian (from Cali) and Jenny (from England). I met them both when I was still in Ecology and Jenny is in my physio class too. We just ate and talked for an hour and then they went to their practical and I walked to the Center. I spent a few hours going around target, Big W and the reject shop comparing prices of things. I bought a light bulb for the lamp I found in the living room that no one uses (I hate getting up from bed to shut the overhead light off after I’ve been reading). And then I finally found a pair of bell bottom jeans at target for $9 and I was so happy. I didn’t bring any from home and I’ve been getting really sick of wearing skinny jeans all the time. That made my day.
I finished my report on the diving exercise we did. The graph for it is attached and it was not a fun time trying to make and interrupt it. I also did laundry today.

August 27th: Mr. Fix-It

the whole living room was built up to block Kray's room.
 That's my house!!
 looking toward Danielle's
looking out toward the road.... we are litterally the last set of houses in the back of the West Village

This morning I woke up early so that I could be awake for the guy to come fix my shower. He came around 10 am and fixed the shower within 10 minutes. He said there was a lot of gunk and that’s probably what made the knob lock up. He said that in the West Village one room per house has issues like this and that I caught it just in time so the water didn’t drip down through the ceiling. I was so happy to have water back.
