Bagel, Danielle and me

Today I woke up early and got ready to go into the city with Danielle. We left at noon to take a bus to the city. Once we got off, we walked around and tried to find the open market on Hay Street. It was like a giant flea market and we are going to go back. They even had a section of fresh veggies and fruit that I would’ve loved to buy if I knew I was going home afterwards and not out. But we spent a few hours there and after we walked through Darling Harbour to go to the Rocks. On the way there wwe had to walk under the famous Sydney bridge which was a really cool view looking up at the bridge and at one point we spotted people doing the $200 bridge climb. Here there was a large outdoor market that reminded me a lot of an art and craft fair. It was super cold so we didn’t stay out looking around very long.  We went inside and found a rock candy store that was making fresh candy. We wandered around a bit more and got in line for a restaurant called Pancakes on the Rocks. They are obviously mainly known for their pancakes and I had really wanted to go there because I had not had pancakes since I had left the States. We had just made it because right after we got in line, the line started going up the stairs and outside. We were seated and I ordered the long stack of (four) pancakes. The waiter asked me if I knew how many pancakes that was and I laughed and said I did and that I was hungry. We ate our pancakes (some of the best I’ve ever had) and mine had cherries and ice cream with them. I ate every single piece and when the waiter had come over he did a little bow to me because I had proved him wrong. Danielle and I sat and talked for a while and then left to walk back to Darling Harbour where we were meeting Bagel (it’s a nickname) to go out. We took a train to King’s Cross which is a huge clubbing area of the city of Sydney. We went to a few clubs and the last one we ended up at was horrible. The DJ couldn’t play dance music and didn’t even transition the music. We left soon after and walked back to the center of Sydney to catch the night bus back at 2:30am. Once back, I was starving again and made grilled cheese and sausage. I watched a bit of a movie and then passed out soon into it because the day was so busy. We walked a lot but I always have a great time exploring with Danielle.
