August 23rd: Animal Ethics?

Today I just did a lot of work. I had loads of homework to do and I went through a lot of it and took notes on lectures. I’ve been being productive because classes have been picking up. I also had my Animal Behaviour Prac today and we talked about these Wrens that we were studying and the experiment that was done on them and if it was ethical. The conversation took an interesting turn when the class became divided really fast on their views of animal ethics. One girl was completely animal rights and even thought that there shouldn’t be humans on this planet. Another guy was not at all bothered by the fact that rats are being injected with heroin in the labs. It was an interesting discussion and I left wishing we still had more time to talk. I’m really enjoying my classes here because they are very interesting and not necessarily information that seems repetitive to other courses. I find learning about marine animals and animal behaviour really fascinating because it does have a lot to do with psychology. I’m really enjoying my classes here.
