i thought it was funny they had deer as an exhibit and people were amazed, when i see them in my own backyard. but i guess that's how people here feel when we freak out about seeing a kangaroo

something is wrong with this platypus...
Today I got up early to head to the zoo with the AIFS
group. Our program organized it for free for us and it was totally worth going.
We were there for about 4 hours and saw almost everything. It was really
interesting seeing the Australian animals. They had a lot of exhibits where you
walked into a huge cage and the animals were able to walk around you: this was
the case for the kangaroo cage, they were just out in the open and 3 feet from
you. The ranger would yell at you if you stopped off the path, but it confused
me because it seemed like such a dangerous option to both humans and animals by
having a boxing kangaroo within reach and fully armed. I was also in another
exhibit that I could’ve pet the little wallaby if I had wanted to but I didn’t want
to chance it and get bit… we had a lot of fun at the zoo.
Then I got ready to go out with the group for one of our
friend’s birthday. We went to his house first and hung out for a bit. Then the stretch
hummer came to pick everyone up. Anthony and I were the only two who didn’t want
to pay for the hummer so we walked to the bus station to take the bus into the
city. It was still a lot of fun on the bus with Anthony. He made us get out at
a stop too early so we had to walk around a bit in the city but once we got to
the hotel lounge that everyone had met at we chilled and left when the bar that
we were going to was open. It was one of the best nights I had in a while. We partied
and danced. I was with the best people and there was no drama: perfect night.
When we got back the night took a turn for the worse
though: I had gone to take a shower and when I was done I was unable to turn
the knob back to shut off the water. I had called Anthony over from Deniz’s to
come fix it but he was unable to turn the knob either. We left it to deal with
it in the morning…hoping that it would turn off then.
